It definitely is easy to focus on others and let ourselves not get the attention. That is great that you are going to make an effort to focus on taking care of yourself. It will definitely help with your attitude and outlook. :D

yes, and I think that's part of the joy is just watching them grow up and getting to see "who" they are going to become!

Pets are actually supposed to be good things to have. They provide love and companionship. However, they also provide annoyance and irritation from time to time, lol!

What a great reminder! In order to remain on my list, I take care of myself first. I get up long before everyone else to get in some mental and physical health and to get my daily schedule in order. Then and only then am I ready to take on everyone else's day.

"As I define how best to travel on this journey, I must remind myself that long term changes don’t happen over night and that I must stay the course even when the travel is difficult. "

This is when we start to get discouraged and want to give up. When change doesn't come easily and automatically. Also loved what you said about learning to love the person God has helped you become.

We do need to love ourselves as well as others. The Bible says "love thy neighbor as thyself" but if we're not loving ourselves we're not going to love our neighbor very well, are we?

I think moms really need to watch their health, as you said. We so often might neglect it in view of everyone else's needs.

When my grandma was alive, my mom almost died of pneumonia because she ignored how she felt for almost to long (in order to care for my grandma).

Thank you for joining us today, my friend!

You are so right! I've fallen off the workout wagon, but resolved to jump back on this week. To that end, I'm typing this in my work-out clothes. After being inspired by all the MYHSM posts, I'm headed to the exercise bike.

As for reading for enjoyment, I love that you included that. I find that reading for enjoyment helps my mind clear and my stress level decrease. It is as if I give my brain a chance to clear out all the clutter on its own while I read. I think more people should read for enjoyment. They would be happier!

Happy Monday!
